BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DataPoint, Inc., a Baltimore-based ISP and data center company serving commercial customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, has acquired VelocityServer, a Baltimore-based provider of dedicated servers, colocation and virtual private servers, effective November 30, 2006.

DataPoint will acquire more than 250 customers and additional data center capacity in the transaction. Further, Brent Pulsipher, a former principal at VelocityServer, is being installed at DataPoint full-time as their Sales Engineer. Pulsipher said no employee positions will be eliminated and went on to say working with DataPoint was the next logical step in expanding capacity to meet the growing demand for VelocityServer services.
